16 weeks...

Thus far, i cant understand all the complaints about pregnancy! I guess that I have just had it very easy complared to some! At 16 weeks, im apparently still carrying very small. Well, thats according to 90% the ladies that i speak to. They all reckon that i should be bigger and that J must be small!

Well let me tell you...
After 6 looooooooong weeks, we finally went for our scan! I was nervous the day before as i have not yet felt movement and had managed to convince myself that something was terribly wrong... (what a peanut!!)
Our scan was at 8:30 so we had breakfast and tea and then left for the scan. However, before we left I had to wee. So i diligently took along a bottle of water and drank about 500ml on the way there knowing that I would have to give a urine sample. We arrive at Tania's office and off to the loo i go, bottle in hand. Typically, its at the moment that i cant produce the sample!! so i walk around and try again.... then i walk some more, jump around a bit, press my bladder... and try again!! After about 5 minutes of this, i was able to produce a tiny sample!!
Then onto the scale!! (now as most you know, i have weight issues and HATE scales!! so this is the worst for me!!) i had been wieghing myslef on other scales and they all said that my weight hadnt changed! BUT then i got onto the doc's scale!!
To my absolute shock and horror i had picked up 3.5 kgs!!! I was so upset! here i had convinced myself that i hadnt picked up any weight, and this scale showed that i was up by not 1kg but 3.5kgs!! Oh well! i guess its part of being pregnant!! I just have to learn to accept that im going to gain weight!!

Then it was onto the scan...
Now by this stage my bladder was full.... no make that very full!! (and i mentioned as much to Tania, so she promised not to push too hard!)
Baby J is growing wonderfully!! J is the size of an 18 week and 2 day old!! Looks like we are in for a long baby!! J is taking after mommy with a long body and short legs!
J's heartbeat is strong and consistent, and his/her little tummy had some amniotic fluid in it! very cute to see!

Our big anatomy scan has been booked for my birthday!! thats the big scan where everything is checked!! and ots only 3.5 weeks away now!! then we will be 20 weeks!! HALFWAY!!!
God is incredible!! i am really learning to trust in Him through my pregnancy! God teaches us so much all the time!

I have been sick for the last few days. Cant decide if its just a sinus infection or if it has the makings of flu! But my husband has been fantastic! Making sure i stay warm, marching me off to have a warm bath and then into bed, cooking meals, popping to the shop etc! Bryan is the most fantastic husband ever! (*I love you AP!!*)

Now that i have had my ramble, i guess its time to show you baby J!! so here he/she is... (and no, we will not be finding out if J is a boy or a girl... so the wait will continue!!)

Second Trimester!!!

Ok, so its been a while since i have posted any form of update!
we are now into our second trimester! yay!! Everything is going great! Our next scan is on 12 January!! by then it wouldve been 6 weeks since we last saw J... the difference is going to be HUGE!!!
its soooo great not being tired by 9pm! wow! it really does make a difference! i can now stay awake though a whole DVD again! (although B might argue that;-) )

The pregnancy is going great! Apparently I have had it very easy! no morning sickness, no headaches, no strange cravings (other than the occasional KFC). The only thing is, I wen completely off chocolate, peanut butter and marmite first thing in the morning. Chocolate i can now handle in small doses, but peanut butter and marmite in the mornings is still a no-no!

I really must take some photos of my bump! its tiny, but i think its so very cute! i can definitely feel it! im waiting now to feel J move. Apparently that happens anywhere between 15 and 20 weeks! so hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks i should J moving around!! thats going to be awesome!!

We have been getting J's room ready! the painting is done (sunshine yellow and blue), the winnie-the-pooh(our theme) border is up, we got new cupboard handles -in the shapes on lions, hippos and elephants- and those are up, and B is currently laying and fitting together the Laminated Wood flooring. The room looks amazing! I do have pics and as soon as they are off my phone, i will get them up here! The room really is stunning! We are ecstatic with the result!

Otherwise life is going great! We are off to Durbz on Thursday for Granny's 80th birthday! Im looking forward to it! i love it in Durbz! hoping to come back with a great tan!
Exams went well! and everything is shaping up nicely for the year ahead!
