Thus far...

With 2 days left of my teaching prac, i am beginning to get quite sad. I am really going to miss the kids. Its incredible to be with them every day. It does get tiring (had a quick nap today), but WOW, what an experience! I have learnt so much during this prac. (will be updating my teaching site this weekend)

Must tell you about my kodak moment/s. Well actually about hitting a benchmark. Picture the classic school cartoon, the naughty but oh so cute little boy and the presentation of the red apple. Well, last week i had 2 of these moments. I received 2 red appples from 2 different little boys. I really felt as though I had made it... even though I still have 3 years to go.

I love teaching young children. Some things just click, and this is one of them. Its a a blessing from God. I really do feel as though I am fulfilling and training my God-given talent. God has granted me a love and passion for children in every aspect and I only pray that this will be used to further his kingdom.

On that note, a friend from church and I have felt that God calling us to do something about the misguided/troubled girls in our area. Hence we are starting a Girls Outreach Programme. In our area (which is a good area) there are too young girls being caught up in rape, date rape, drugs, alcohol, sex, older boyfriends etc. So we will be having girls around to chat. Its not going to be a bible bashing or even a lecture. But we want to set them on the right path. Personally, when i was in my teens, I did some really silly things. I wish that there had been someone who I could've spoken to, other than my mom, because I feel that mom's don't always want to express their mistakes amd they can get very emotionally involved. We are hoping to create a safe environment for the girls where they can speak freely about whats going on in their lives and they can share and be healed by God. We are going to be hsaring from our personal lives and showing how God can save and redeem. All input in this will be appreciated. Pray in this area is needed.

Bryan and I are doing great! Our church leaders have their sponsors here at the moment. Vinton and Dorothy are amazing amazing people. I will blog more on them soon. I just had to say WOW! We have a lot of love for them.
